I grew up in a Spanish-speaking household, where my Mexican immigrant mother and dual-citizen father—who spent his early years in Mexico—settled in the U.S. after marrying at 18. We lived with just what we needed, with special occasions like birthdays and Christmas adding moments of celebration and joy.
In our Hispanic culture, jewelry carries deep significance and is gifted to mark every major life event and religious ceremony. Each piece is imbued with meaning, from engraved ID bracelets for babies to symbolic pendants at baptisms.
At age five, I became aware of the world’s diversity in preschool, where not everyone spoke Spanish. This created a sense of isolation, but I found comfort in art. Craft time became a source of joy, nurturing my love for creativity.
As I began learning English in first grade, I unexpectedly won an art award. The project? Drawing an upside-down rabbit. This small victory affirmed my creative abilities, despite language barriers, and encouraged me to pursue art.
Like many children, I collected rocks—but I was especially drawn to the natural crystal quartz found in my grandparents’ Mexican soil. This sparked my fascination with geology, even as my interest in fashion blossomed.
In middle school, I began making jewelry for myself and my friends, though I never saw it as a potential career.
Fast forward to age 22. After college, I started an online boutique, curating sustainable clothing and jewelry. To my surprise, the jewelry part of my business took off faster than I ever imagined.
That’s when I had an epiphany:
Jewelry is timeless.
Jewelry transcends size.
Jewelry holds sentimental value, like the pieces I received in my childhood.
Realizing this, I shifted my focus entirely to jewelry, letting go of the clothing side of my business.
So when people ask when my journey started, I always respond: "Do you want the long version or the short?"
I’ve always felt that this path was meant for me, trusting the universe to guide me. This feeling inspires me to remind my clients of their limitless potential and inner strength—and I hope to do the same for you.
